The Ministry is mandated to formulate and implement policies and strategies in the energy sector. It is also responsible for establishment of a responsive legal framework to govern the development of all energy sectors. The Ministry gives oversight functions across the entire energy supply chain for all sub-sector agencies which include (Electricity production, transmission, distribution and Supply) and other forms of energy supply utilization
